As a Junior Technical Superintendent, you will support the Technical Department in the day-to-day management of assigned vessels while progressively developing the technical, commercial and leadership skills required to become a fully qualified Technical Superintendent.
Working closely with senior colleagues, onboard officers and clients, you’ll gain practical exposure to every aspect of technical ship management.
What You’ll Learn & Do
- Support the technical management of Tankers, Bulk Carriers and Cable Layer vessels.
- Coordinate planned maintenance, repairs and dry dockings.
- Monitor vessel performance and operational efficiency.
- Assist with technical budgets and cost control.
- Support statutory surveys, class inspections and flag requirements.
- Work with Masters and Chief Engineers to resolve technical issues.
- Coordinate with suppliers, shipyards and classification societies.
- Prepare vessels for PSC, Flag State, RightShip and client inspections.
- Analyse technical reports and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in risk assessments, incident reviews and technical investigations.
- Build strong relationships with shipboard teams.
Who You Are
We’re looking for motivated professionals eager to learn, grow and make a difference.
- Marine Engineering qualification or relevant seagoing experience; or
- Chief Engineer or Second Engineer Certificate of Competency; or
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or Naval Architecture.
- Knowledge of Italian Flag Administration requirements and maritime regulations.
- Fluency in English and Italian.
- Strong organisational, planning and analytical skills.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High standards of integrity, professionalism, quality and safety.
